Description (v) Features
The IR21084STR is an integrated circuit (IC) component designed for various motor control applications. It is specifically designed for three-phase, brushless DC (BLDC) motors and offers several key features that enhance motor control efficiency and performance. One of the notable features of the IR21084STR is its ability to handle high voltages. It can operate from a supply voltage ranging from 6V to 60V, making it highly suitable for a wide range of motor control applications. This high-voltage capability makes it suitable for industrial, automotive, and appliance applications where robustness is required. Another important feature of the IR21084STR is its utilization of sensorless control for BLDC motors. This means that the IC does not require any external sensors to detect rotor position or commutation. By employing advanced algorithms, the IC can accurately determine the motor's rotor position based on back-EMF (electromotive force) information. This sensorless approach simplifies the motor control circuit and reduces costs associated with sensor implementation. The IC incorporates a PWM (pulse-width modulation) engine that allows precise control of motor speed and torque. It offers six PWM output channels, three for each of the motor's phases, enabling effective control of motor commutation. The selectable PWM frequency and duty cycle range ensure flexibility in motor control applications. Additionally, it features adaptive dead-time control, optimizing the switching times and minimizing the possibility of shoot-through currents during commutation
