Description (v) Features
The LTC4064EMSE#PBF is an integrated circuit (IC) component designed by Linear Technology Corporation, a subsidiary of Analog Devices Inc. It is a high-efficiency, standalone, constant-current, battery charger controller. This IC offers several key features that make it suitable for various battery charging applications. Firstly, the LTC4064EMSE#PBF is a complete charger controller that requires minimal external components. This feature allows for a compact design and simplifies the overall circuitry. Moreover, its low dropout voltage enables charging from inputs as low as 4.4V, making it compatible with a wide range of power sources. The IC can facilitate charging a single-cell lithium-ion, lithium-polymer, or lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery with a constant current. It supports charge currents up to 2A, which can be easily adjusted using an external resistor. Additionally, the IC incorporates a programmable charge termination algorithm that ensures accurate and safe charging of the battery. To enhance its charging efficiency, the LTC4064EMSE#PBF employs a proprietary architecture that allows power to be directly transferred from the input source to the battery. This reduces power dissipation and increases the overall charging efficiency. Furthermore, the IC offers a high charge current to input supply ratio, allowing the battery to be charged even when the input voltage is significantly lower than the battery voltage
