Description (v) Features
The MAX202ECPE is an integrated circuit (IC) component designed for converting TTL logic-level signals into RS-232 voltage levels. It serves as a dual-channel RS-232 driver/receiver, making it ideal for serial communication applications. One of the key features of the MAX202ECPE is its ability to operate with a single power supply ranging from +5V to +12V. This makes it compatible with a variety of systems and simplifies the power supply design. The IC is capable of converting TTL/CMOS logic levels to RS-232 voltage levels, which allows for easy interfacing with RS-232 devices such as PCs, modems, and printers. The MAX202ECPE features two independent drivers and receivers, enabling simultaneous communication on two different RS-232 channels. The drivers provide ±1.5A output current capability, ensuring reliable signal transmission over long cables. The receivers have a sensitivity of ±200mV, making them highly receptive to RS-232 signals. Another noteworthy feature of this IC is its low power consumption. With an operating current of just 500μA, it is energy-efficient and suitable for battery-powered devices. Additionally, it offers a low-power shutdown mode, bringing the current consumption down to 1μA during standby or when inactive. The MAX202ECPE also incorporates a slew-rate-limited driver that minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reduces reflections on the RS-232 lines
