The AD632SH is an Integrated Circuit (IC) component manufactured by Analog Devices. It is a voltage-to-frequency converter, commonly utilized in various industrial applications. One of the essential characteristics of the AD632SH is its ability to convert a voltage input into a frequency output. The input voltage can range from -10 V to +10 V, providing flexibility for various signal amplitudes. The conversion technique employed by the AD632SH is based on controlling the charge and discharge of an integrating capacitor. This capacitor accumulates charge until it reaches a certain threshold voltage, at which point a reset condition is triggered, causing the capacitor to discharge and initiate a new integration cycle. The frequency of these cycles corresponds to the input voltage, providing an accurate representation of the measured signal. To ensure accurate frequency measurement, the AD632SH incorporates an internal reference oscillator. This oscillator operates at a frequency of 10 MHz, acting as a stable time base for the conversion process. The IC's output signal is synchronized with this reference oscillator, guaranteeing precise frequency accuracy. An important benefit of the AD632SH is its ability to perform simultaneous voltage-to-frequency conversion on multiple input channels.
